Handgun Personal Protection
Private Lesson Package

Six Weeks To Better Self-Defense
Description

The Handgun Personal Protection Private Lesson Package is a program designed to bring the
legally armed individual to a high level of function with their personal defense handgun over the
course of six programmed private training sessions, one-on-one or with a training partner under the
direction of a qualified instructor. Normally scheduled weekly, lessons progress from safety and
marksmanship training to safe draw from concealment, stressed reloading and malfunction clearance
procedures, shooting in low light and while moving, use of cover, and culminate in simulations of
common defensive scenarios.  Along the way, the student will be provided take-home learning
resources and will complete practice exercises at home to reinforce the skills taught on the firing
range.

Who Should Attend

This lesson package is for the student who is serious about increasing their level of self and family
protection and who learns best in a private instructional setting. This program is not designed for
those primarily interested in recreational or competitive shooting, or for those unwilling or unable to
commit approximately t
hree hours per week on the firing range (scheduled by appointment) and
approximately two hours per week of at-home practical work and study for approximately six weeks.
The prospective student must already have completed a basic firearms safety and legal review course
such as the Safe Start Permit Program, and possess or be eligible for a Virginia Concealed Handgun
Permit.

Equipment Needs

Each student will need a serviceable self-defense handgun, revolver or semiautomatic (students may
use either or both for lessons), of a safe design from a reputable manufacturer that has not been
altered substantially from factory configuration. Students will need at least three magazines for their
semiautomatic pistols, or at least two speed loaders or speed strips for revolvers. Each participant will
need a good quality concealment holster that is appropriate for the type of weapon they have chosen
to use. Magazine or loader pouches are helpful, but not required. Students with questions should
consult with the instructor prior to making purchases of this equipment. The student is responsible for
hearing and eye protection, and will need approximately 1,000 rounds of reliable ammunition over the
course of instruction.

Cost of Training

The cost of each lesson is $199.95 if purchased separately. Students prepaying for the six-lesson
package will pay a discounted tuition of $
999.95. Further discounts may be available for partners who
train together and for graduates of other PPI programs.
